Reiki Program Director

I’ve always been a highly sensitive person. In fact, for most of my life, I felt as if I didn’t fit in. I was often sick, painfully shy, & being with people overwhelmed me. I hit my lowest point in my early 30’s when my health began to suffer from a number of mystery illnesses that didn’t respond to Western medicine. I was out of work, I had no energy, and could see no way forward. 

Before that, I worked as a mental health counselor. I worked long hours with very difficult clients, and never took time off. I had a daily meditation experience, but I was using it to escape, rather than for self-care (at the time I didn’t know the difference).  

I realized I couldn’t live like that anymore, and I knew I had to find a way to heal my life. Then one day I walked into a holistic fair and tried a Reiki session. I had such a positive response that I decided to learn Reiki myself and began practicing and teaching soon after that.

Since then, I’ve devoted myself and my work to bringing Reiki practice to the public, as well as teaching and mentoring Reiki students. In my 20+ years as a Reiki practitioner, I have had the privilege to become a Master in several styles of Reiki, including Usui Reiki, Shamballa Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Gendai Reiki, Usui/Holy Fire Reiki and ICRT Animal Reiki. Over the years I’ve done thousands of Reiki sessions and taught hundreds of Reiki classes. I’ve also presented on the topic of Reiki to many groups and organizations, and hosted Reiki shares, retreats and clinics.  

In 2012, I founded the Central New York Reiki Association, a group of local Reiki practitioners whose mission is to make Reiki accessible to the wider community. 

In 2013, I opened Infinite Light Center with my husband, Tony, Yoga Teacher and founder if Infinite Light Yoga. There I served as Wellness Director, and ran the Reiki program. 

Since March 2020, I’ve been offering all of my sessions and classes virtually. I see my clients on Zoom by phone, and all of my classes and workshops are offered in live online small group trainings. In the time I've been practicing and teaching online, I've seen that my clients and students receive at least as much benefit as they did in when my services were in person. I am now able to reach people who live outside of my area, as well as those who are restricted by health, lifestyle needs, or lack of transportation. 

My Reiki journey hasn’t been without its ups and downs, and I’ve had to figure out a lot of things for myself. Practicing the system of Reiki has helped me navigate everything that life has thrown at me, and I bring everything I’ve learned in the more than 20 years I’ve been practicing into my classes and sessions.
