I am the co-owner and director of Infinite Light Center. I have been practicing yoga since 1987. I studied extensively at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, graduating in 1993 as an Advanced Certified Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher. I am also a registered Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500.
I began teaching in various locations in the Syracuse, NY area under the business name “Yoga with Tony”, and then founded Infinite Light Yoga in 2009, as well as the new Infinite Light Yoga 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training program.
In 2013, I opened Infinite Light Center in 2013 in Jamesville, NY, with my wife, Mary. I taught my classes, employed a team of Yoga Teachers, and ran the Infinite Light Yoga Teacher Training program out of our 11,000 sf wellness center. In 2021 we downsized, closing our physical location and moving to a community based model. I currently teach a smaller number of classes at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society in Syracuse, NY, which gives me time to deepen my personal practice and maintain balance in my life.
My specialty is teaching the practices of yoga in an experiential way, seamlessly blending yogic philosophy, theory and practice as a form of self-discovery. All my classes are led as an experience rather than a work-out. I believe that yoga, led in this way, can be practiced by everyone regardless of size, age, ability or physical condition.
I guide every class using progressions and/or variations so that each student can stay comfortable, yet still be challenged as they explore the connection between their mind, body and spirit. All my classes are inspirational, personable, moving and above all, profoundly nurturing.
I welcome you to come to my experiential classes; they are designed with you in mind. Bring in your questions, ask for postures you long for, tell me where your aches and pains are or what you are working toward, and it will be woven into the class. Although the classes are led as a group, each person is honored individually, respecting personal and spatial privacy. I would be honored to share my experiences with you as you embark upon your own personal journey.
